Complications of Fecal incontinence
| About complications: Complications of Fecal incontinence are secondary conditions, symptoms, or other disorders that are caused by Fecal incontinence. In many cases the distinction between symptoms of Fecal incontinence and complications of Fecal incontinence is unclear or arbitrary. |
Complications list for Fecal incontinence: The list of complications that have been mentioned in various sources for Fecal incontinence includes:
- Social embarrassment (see Society problems)
- Social isolation (see Isolation)
- Depression
- Rectal pain
- Anal itching
- Shame (see Society problems)
- Isolation
Complications of Fecal incontinence:
Loss of bowel control can be devastating. People who have fecal
incontinence may feel ashamed, embarrassed, or humiliated. Some don't want
to leave the house out of fear they might have an accident in public. Most
try to hide the problem as long as possible, so they withdraw from friends
and family. The social isolation is unfortunate but may be reduced because
treatment can improve bowel control and make incontinence easier to
manage.
