Bruton type agammaglobulinemia (condition): Immune deficiency from lack of antibodies.

Bruton type agammaglobulinemia: XLA is sometimes called Bruton type, X-linked infantile, or congenital agammaglobulinemia. One out of 100,000 people have XLA. Defects on the X chromosome cause XLA. Only boys get XLA. That is because girls have two sets of X chromosomes, and the normal copy compensates for the faulty gene. ¹
