Medical News Summary (summary of medical news story as reported by News Target): Celebrex’s license is currently being reviewed and the painkiller Bextra is also under fire after new studies have found that it increases the risk of heart attack or stroke if taken with aspirin. The FDA has already issued warnings about taking Bextra during heart bypass surgery because of increased risk of heart problems. Animal studies have also shown that the benefits of taking aspirin to inhibit atherosclerosis become negligible once the condition has occurred.
