Tests on mice have found that Prozac reduces bone mass and size. Early findings from other studies has found that the drug increases hip bone loss in older women, reduced bone density in men and a general reduction in bone growth in children. This could have serious implications since Prozac is currently the only FDA approved drug for children and adolescents. Researchers say that more research needs to be done to confirm these results.
