Lacotferrin prevents bone loss as well as promoting bone strengthening. Studies on mice have found that local injections of lacotferrin results in an incredible rate of bone growth thus making it also potentially useful for direct application to fracture site. Lactoferrin is found in cows milk, human milk and particularly colostrum. Further research needs to be done to enable it to be used on humans.
