Introduction: POEMS

POEMS: POEMS syndrome stands for "polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, monoclonal gammopathy, and skin changes". This is a very rare plasma cell disorder with Ganda [1997] reporting about 100 known cases with 30-50% of cases having mild to severe glucose intolerance. Some patients were severe enough to require insulin.
