Introduction: Triple-X syndrome
Triple-X syndrome:
A rare chromosomal genetic syndrome with one or more extra X chromosomes, leading to XXX (or more rarely XXXX or XXXXX),
instead of the usual XX (female) or XY (male).
These people are females as they have no Y male chromosome,
but have an additional female X chromosome.
Women can be largely unaffected,
or may suffer from problems such as infertility (some but not all),
and reduced mental acuity.
